Meet our team
Ian Wright - Bsc, Msc, BMVS, MRCVS - Vet, co-owner
Ian has qualifications in Parasitology and has published a number of research papers. He is now Head of ESCCAP – the European Scientific Council for Companion Animal Parasites) UK and Ireland. Ian is originally from Somerset – and like Rebecca, he qualified at Glasgow University – where they met. He and Rebecca have 2 young sons, Nathan and Adam.
Rebecca Wright BVMS, BA, MRCVS - Vet, co-owner
Rebecca is originally from California, but came to the UK to qualify at Glasgow University. She has a special interest in dermatology and surgery. Out of the practice, Rebecca is also kept busy by her and Ian’s two boys – Nathan, who is 15 and Adam, who is 13.
Elaine Treece-Birch – Animal Care Assistant
Elaine is now the longest-serving member of staff at the practice, starting with us in 2005. Her wide variety of knowledge has helped with training much staff over the years. Her time and effort spent at the practice have helped her form a fantastic ability to be able to work with most if not all cats! She is the practice’s “cat whisperer”. At home, she has a dog called Archie and Elaine spends time with her family and grandchildren as often as she can. Elaine helps everyone that she is able to; leaving a big impression on everyone she meets. She loves sewing and crafting; she often crafts things for practice members and raises lots of funds for charity each year.
Clarissa Hamer – Registered Veterinary Nurse
Clarissa joined the nursing team in December 2020 having completed here level 3 qualification in Animal Management. Since joining Clarissa started her journey as a Student Veterinary Nurse and in May 2024 qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Her friendly disposition puts animals and their owners at ease whilst attending appointments. In her spare time Clarissa loves horse riding and spending time with her family.
Jo Harter-Tong – Student Vet Nurse
Jo became a part of the nursing team in July 2021, having previously been a science teacher for 20 years, before embarking on a new career. As much as returning to education whilst juggling a family must be hard, Jo has displayed hard work, dedication and plenty of compassion since the day she started. Her patience and ability to understand others is well-recognised by all within the practice. Jo loves working with animals and has a dog and rabbit at home.
Ellen Williams – Student Vet Nurse
Ellen started with us in February 2023. Ellen is currently training with us as a Student Veterinary Nurse. Ellen loves spending time with her horse Dori and her springer spaniel Bluebell.
Collette Egan – Reception
Collette joined the practice in October 2016 with plenty of experience already under her belt. Collette is the front-of-house entertainment on reception and makes a real fuss of the pets when they come in! She has a love of all animals and at home, she has 3 dogs, a cat, a tortoise and an African grey parrot. She enjoys spending time at the stables with her pony and also quality time with family. Collette has a passion for the outdoors and is often found outside with her grandchildren.
Debbie Waterworth – Reception
Debbie joined the reception team in April 2022. Although only with us for a few months, she has slotted into the team well, using her many years of receptionist experience to be able to communicate well with staff and clients alike. Currently, she has 3 cats, Pongo, Eric and Dottie but is always looking to add to her crew!
Laura Fearnley – Reception
Laura joined the practice in May 2023 and is part of the reception team. She has a love of animals and currently has two house rabbits, Babbit and Bobbit. When not working she enjoys reading and local league cricket. Here she is pictured with her partners cat Morris.
Narelle Stuttard – Admin
Narelle joined us in October 2019 after relocating from Manchester with her family and looks after the Mount's administrative tasks. In her spare time, she loves to spend time at the stables with her horse Major and she has just got an adorable new cockapoo puppy called Elsie!
When time allows, Narelle also enjoys travelling with her family, walking and crafting.
Michelle Brady – Practice Manager
Michelle started at the Mount Vets in November 2021. Michelle has an infectious sense of humour and has brought laughter into the practice even throughout the pandemic! Michelle also works one day a week on admin for the practice. Michelle is our practice baker and often brings us amazing cakes for our daily brew time!
Caroline Dixon – Reception
Caroline has been with us for many years. She always has a story to tell, keeping us entertained with each shift. She is always in a rush but has time and energy for everyone. Her love for animals doesn’t stop at vets, she has 5 cats and a dog! She also loves dog walking in her spare time.
Tina Southern - Reception
Tina joined the practice in January 2023 as a Receptionist. Tina is a keen gardener and enjoys walking in her spare time. She is an avid reader and is the proud owner of a thirteen-year-old Russian Blue Cat.
Cheyenne – Kennel Assistant
Cheyenne originally joined us for a week on work experience. Cheyenne impressed us and is now a member of the team. Cheyenne enjoys spending time in Kennels comforting the in patients. In her spare time she spends her time with her own animals and her family.
